Capturing Archives Inspire on film

Two years have passed since the start of Archives Inspire, our four-year strategic ambition to change the way people think about archives. I wanted to briefly draw attention to some of the great work that has already been achieved under these plans, as well as look ahead to an exciting 2017.

The video below showcases the core aspirations that are at the very heart of all our work, and especially in tackling the single biggest challenge facing archives – digital. The video gives you a taste of some of the projects currently under way at The National Archives, and that are also being done in collaboration with archives and partners throughout the country. I’d like to thank everyone involved.

Do keep checking our blog for updates. This year will see some truly exciting developments taking place, including the reinvigoration of some of The National Archives public spaces, the launch of a new strategic vision for archives; and building on our work with more institutions from around the world to drive the development of archives, on a global scale.
